We are an eclectic mix of artists, life coaches and therapists. We came together because we care about our youth and know growing up is not an easy task. Each of us brings something a little different to the table. As a group our goal is to help you find the confidence to embrace being you.

Suzi Mitchell is a writer and artist based in Steamboat Springs. Born in Scotland, Suzi made Steamboat her home in 2002, where she lives with husband Chuck, three children, Kristina, Ellie and Roo, Nell the dog, and Little the cat. She is a freelance writer, and her work is published on both sides of the Atlantic. She stumbled upon her role as an artist through happenstance and has been painting and selling her work since 2015. Before she picked up a paintbrush and pencil, she worked in the golf industry and taught at Colorado Mountain College. Suzi is a huge proponent of giving back to the community. Over the last two decades she has served on committees or volunteered with the Haymaker Golf Committee, Strings Music Festival, Routt to Work, Girl Scouts, Steamboat Soccer Club, Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, Steamboat Creates, Piknik Theater and the Steamboat Springs School District. She loves doing anything that involves being immersed in nature from hiking through aspen groves or sitting by the river with a picnic, to swimming in the sea or painting the changing seasons.

Sophie is a wife, mother, clinically trained mentor, coach and consultant. She was born and raised on a ranch outside of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. As a child and teen, she believed counseling was for crazy people, and meditation and energy healing are what spacey weirdos do. She never would have thought she would be embodying those things in her life now! “My life journey began at home with who thought I should be, and has led me to a new more authentic sense of home and self with who I really am. I am no longer defined by my past experiences and generational trauma but by who I am Divinely created to be. My horses and spirituality were my resiliency factors growing up. I am good at falling and getting back up. Find Sophie at www.sophieberkley.com

Greg was born in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1986 and moved to Colorado at an early age. As a child growing up near the small mountain town of Oak Creek, he quickly developed an intense curiosity for the natural world and spent countless hours outdoors with a sketchpad, closely examining everything from streams to stones to skies. He continued to develop his skill as an artist throughout high school and painted whenever he could while earning his BA in biology at Colorado College. As a student, he made a conscious decision not to take any painting courses or adopt a mentor, opting instead to learn through experimentation and the study of paintings by artists he admired. After graduating summa cum laude in 2009, he devoted himself to painting and has since gained recognition as "one of the most promising young artists in the representational art world" (Fine Art Today).

Born and raised in Steamboat Springs, CO., Missy and her husband Scott have chosen to continue to make this valley their home. They have a blended family of four children and many pets. Life is in constant flux; some days are lost in motherhood, while others pass by under paint palettes and brushstrokes.
Missy works primarily in acrylic and mixed media. Her layered style pays reverence to the journey of life, while her gestural mark making and bold colors are meant to uncover the contents of your heart and provide comfort in the wandering.
She is looking forward to participating in You Out Loud because it provides the opportunity for her to connect with new people and to share her creativity with an organization of which she supports. Although Missy enjoys the solitude of being an artist, she truly loves having meaningful conversations and encouraging others to find a personal way to express themselves.

Jennifer is a glass artist in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She lived in the Midwest before moving to Colorado in 2007. Her work is inspired by nature being influenced as a child working in her grandmother’s gardens and as an adult exploring the world’s various landscapes. Jennifer was deeply impacted with the sudden loss of her father when she was a young adult. This only furthered her wanderlust and a sense of urgency to go out and see everything -yet taking time to slow down and really see everything, the colors, color changes with light, shadows, etc. She is often told her work evokes joy. She shares her vision of those colors and landscapes and embraces her relationship with nature in her artwork that can be enjoyed by those who view it.
Maggie Smith is a Steamboat Springs-based artist, enjoying what she deems as her 5th and final career. She feels her many life experiences have brought her to where she is now. Maggie is inspired by flora, fauna and landscapes.

Not one for conformity, Brian opened The Red Trike gallery inside a disused meat factory in an underprivileged part of Chicago. His client list ranges from the Wrigley family to the Sara Lee Corporation. He’s painted everything from murals and stage sets for television, to pet portraits and athletes.
Brian sees art in everything, opting for day-to-day objects to depict in neon hued abstract form. His passion to push the boundaries of realism reflects his unorthodox approach to mainstream life.
Recent works fill large walls in the Jace Romick Gallery on Lincoln Avenue in his hometown of Steamboat Springs. The father of two teenage girls has built a career doing exactly what he loves. Not bad for a rebel, who chose defiance over dedication in high school.

Sandi is constantly discovering new paper, pencils, and techniques. She loves graphite and charcoal, and feels she sees the world in degrees of light and shadow, enjoying the gradation of grays.
She is a happily retired forensic artist and scientist. After thirty years of working for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, I was anxious to start a new life in a new place.
